[ad_1]

Police were called to Lea Bridge Road shortly before 3pm yesterday (July 6) to reports that a man had been stabbed.

Officers attended the incident, as well as London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.

A man, believed to be aged in his early 30s, was treated at the scene, but died shortly afterwards. Police are still in the process of notifying his next of kin.

A crime scene is in place between Vicarage Road Melbourne Road. A police spokesperson confirmed that a knife has been recovered.

No arrests have been made and police enquiries continue at this time.

Confirming yesterday afternoon that a man had died in Lea Bridge Road, Walthamstow MP Stella Creasy condemned the “heinous attack”.

In a post to X, she added: “I urge everyone…to refrain from speculating as a way of respecting his family who are deeply grieving their loss.”

London Ambulance Service (LAS) confirmed that it sent ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car and London’s Air Ambulance to the incident.

A LAS spokesperson said that the wounded man died at the scene, but was subsequently taken to hospital “by a third party”.

Anyone with information has been urged to call police on 101 quoting reference CAD 4049/06Jul.
