UK offers AI expertise to Philippines

The United Kingdom has expressed willingness to share its know-how on artificial intelligence (AI) with the Philippines.

This was conveyed by British Ambassador to the Philippines Laure Beaufils during her courtesy call with Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero.

“The UK will be happy to share with the Senate or the government in general, knowledge on AI and finding balance in its thoughtful use,” the ambassador told the senator.

During the meeting, Escudero admitted to the ambassador that there has been an absence in Congress of a comprehensive platform to track amendments to laws from their inception to the present.

“We should take advantage of AI and digitization to improve the process for policy making, research, and education,” Escudero told Beaufils.

The senator believes there should be “an AI shift in the country in the next three years.”

“Otherwise, we will be left out,” Escudero pointed out.
