TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership (IA-CEPA), which has been in force since 2020, has succeeded in boosting the trade value between the two nations by up to 90 percent, said Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto.
Under the IA-CEPA, Australia eliminated 6,474 tariff posts, or 100 percent of the total tariff posts, allowing zero percent of import duties on Indonesian products into Australia. Indonesia, meanwhile, eliminated 10,229 tariff posts, or 94.5 percent of the total tariff posts.

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Indonesian government has amended the tightening import regulations previously issued by the Ministry of Trade. The decision was made following the outcome of the internal meeting of related ministries with President Joko Widodo or Jokowi at the State Palace.
Coordinating Minister for Economy, Airlangga Hartarto, said several points at the Trade Ministerial Regulation No. 8/ 2024 were revised by President Jokowi based on the results of the meeting. “There are seven groups of goods that have been re-regulated in the new regulation of the Trade Ministry, namely Trade Ministerial Regulation Number 8 of 2024,” Airlangga said at his office on Friday, May 17.
3. Philippines to Vigorously Defend Territory, President Says
TEMPO.CO, Manila – The Philippines’ President Ferdinand Marcos Jr said on Saturday, May 18, the country will “vigorously defend what is ours”, in a thinly veiled reference to mounting tensions with China over maritime disputes.
