Springfield Farmers’ Market opens with music and produce

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A sign that summer is almost officially here. Friday was the opening day of the Downtown Springfield Farmers’ Market.

It was a beautiful day for the Downtown Springfield Farmer’s Market and in addition to fresh locally grown produce you’ll find quite a bit more.


Big Red Drumline, made up of students from the Libertas Academy Charter School in Springfield, provided entertainment on the Opening Day of the Downtown Springfield Farmers’ Market at Tower Square Park.

Angelle Lopez, Market Manager of the Downtown Springfield Farmers Market, told 22News, “Mainly what we try to do is to provide the community with resources to come on out vendors we want to get them out here we want to to get people to see everything that Springfield has especially surrounding western Mass cities as well.”

At the Downtown Springfield Farmers’ Market, you find everything from fresh locally grown produce, food vendors, artwork, and locally made soap.

The Market takes place every Friday through September 27th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
