Football Australia must find a replacement for referees boss Nathan Magill, who will leave next month to join the English Football Association.
Football: Socceroos head coach Graham Arnold has named an extended 25-man squad ahead of his side’s two FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers.
Magill, whose role included appointing referees to A-League matches, will leave Football Australia next month after a three-year tenure to start his new job as the English FA’s head of referee development.
“I am forever grateful for the opportunity to lead the department in a sport that has been a central part of my life,” Magill said.
“I take pride in what we have achieved together during my time over the last three years. It has been some of the most rewarding times of my career.”
FA chief executive officer James Johnson said: “Nathan has been a cornerstone of our refereeing department, bringing passion, dedication, and a wealth of knowledge to the role.
“His efforts have significantly enhanced the standards of officiating in Australia, and his positive impact will be felt for years to come.”
FA will soon start the search for a replacement for Magill.
