The company is now selling the biofuel at a service station in Osnabrück and has plans to expand it across five more locations throughout the country.
Q1 Energie AG will start selling HVO100 (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) diesel, with the first location offering the biofuel located in Osnabrück.
The fuel can be used in all diesel vehicles without modification and offers performance with reduced pollutant emissions. A high cetane number ensures improved combustion and therefore cleaner and more efficient engine performance.
Q1 plans to offer HVO100 at five further locations over the course of the year, including Iffezheim, where a new construction project is currently being built by the company.
“With the introduction of HVO100, we want to offer our customers a sustainable alternative to conventional diesel in the existing infrastructure. We are proud to be one of the first providers in the region to include this sustainable fuel in our range,” said Frederick Beckmann, CEO at Q1-
While HVO100 has already been available at service stations in other European countries for some time, the biofuel’s sale has recently been allowed in Germany. Q1 has already gained experience with the climate-friendly diesel variant, as it has been supplying its partners AWIGO Group, GMH Recycling and Spedition Schröder with HVO100 since March.
For Beckmann, HVO100 is part of the mobility mix of the future. In addition to 120 charging points, Q1 also operates seven LNG filling stations and will continue its expansion.
