Tomorrow (Sunday): Skies are generally clear. A slight shower and storm chance reenters the picture into the afternoon and early evening. High temperatures in the mid- to upper 90s may feel like low 100s in the steamiest of spots. Overnight temperatures again bottom out within a few degrees of 75.
Thunderstorms and heat through Wednesday
Ahead of a cold front attempting to cool us off late Wednesday into Thursday, we’ll have to face daily heat, humidity and thunderstorm chances. While it looks like any of the upcoming weekdays may hold a slight threat of a few severe thunderstorms, the best chance for widespread severe storms is Wednesday as the front approaches.
At the same time that we’re hoping for a few nonsevere storms to cool us and bring us water, we’ll have to face Monday through Wednesday heat index values that may top out in the 105 to 110 degree range. Thus, the National Weather Service is looking ahead to Monday’s hot and humid conditions with caution, issuing an excessive heat watch.
