One passenger has died and at least 30 others have been injured after a Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore encountered severe turbulence.
Airline officials say the Boeing 777 aircraft was hit by the turbulence about 11,000 meters above Myanmar roughly 10 hours after the takeoff.
They say the flight was diverted to Bangkok and made an emergency landing at Suvarnabhumi Airport on Tuesday.
The airline said 211 passengers and 18 crew were on board.
Thai authorities said the person that died is a 73-year-old British man. They added that some people are seriously injured.
One passenger said he saw teacups and plates flying inside the cabin at a tremendous speed. He added that it was scary to see people who suffered severe injuries.
