Live: Tuesday’s travel updates as A500 smash triggers huge A50 queue

Motorists are facing delays on both the A500 and A50 following a D-road smash. The collision has taken place on the southbound carriageway close to Sideway.

But a live map from Google is showing traffic spiralling all the way back to Normacot. That is just one incident currently affecting the roads in North Staffordshire this morning.

In the Moorlands and there has been a crash on Ashbourne Road between Cheadle and Threapwood. Traffic monitoring site Inrix is reporting how that collision has left the road ‘partially blocked’ between Counslow Road and Moss Lane.
