Japan Photo Journal: Sapporo shines as winter illumination event kicks off – The Mainichi

Started in 1981, the illuminating installation lights up five locations — the city’s symbolic Odori Park, the Ekimae-dori avenue, Sapporo Station south exit square, Kita 3-jo square Akapla and Minamiichijo-dori avenue. The Odori venue, where the Munich Christmas market in Sapporo is held, will run until Dec. 25, while other venues will continue to be lit up through February or March 2024.
