Google Trends show the Philippines ranks third in global AI search interest – Back End News

[ad_1]

According to recent data from Google Trends, the Philippines now ranks third in global searches for (artificial intelligence) AI-related topics and fourth for generative AI (GenAI) over the past 12 months, highlighting a significant interest in the technology among Filipinos.

Google Trends tracks the frequency of searches for specific keywords, providing insights into regional and global search behaviors. The data is measured by comparing the number of times a keyword is searched relative to other terms within a given timeframe.

The Philippines is surpassed only by China and Ethiopia, which hold the first and second positions, respectively. The heightened interest in AI in the Philippines can be attributed to several factors, including the increasing availability of AI tools and platforms that facilitate experimentation and learning.

One notable AI tool accessible to Filipinos is Gemini, Google’s AI chatbot. Gemini is an AI assistant developed to perform various tasks such as writing, planning, learning, and generating content, including images. It offers a free version and a more advanced paid version called Gemini Pro.

According to Google, the growing search interest in AI in the Philippines reflects the country’s advancing technological awareness, economic ambitions, educational initiatives, government support, and the global trend toward AI adoption.
