France stocks mixed at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.96% By Investing.com

Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Industrials sectors led shares higher while losses in the Utilities, Oil & Gas and Aerospace & Defense sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.96%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.67%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which rose 1.11% or 0.68 points to trade at 62.04 at the close. Meanwhile, Thales (EPA:TCFP) added 1.09% or 1.50 points to end at 138.60 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) was up 0.62% or 0.11 points to 17.10 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN), which fell 7.14% or 0.98 points to trade at 12.76 at the close. Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) declined 5.76% or 10.05 points to end at 164.30 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) was down 5.55% or 0.77 points to 13.11.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were ID Logistics SAS (EPA:IDLA) which rose 2.98% to 259.50, JC Decaux SA (EPA:JCDX) which was up 1.65% to settle at 16.68 and TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) which gained 1.11% to close at 62.04.

The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 21.04% to 1.11 in late trade, Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which lost 7.14% to settle at 12.76 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) which was down 5.76% to 164.30 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 310 to 197 and 97 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.31% or 25.75 to $1,944.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.74% or 1.32 to hit $77.06 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.72% or 1.38 to trade at $81.39 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.08% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 105.79.
