‘Destiny 2’ Explains How To Put Enhanced Perks On All New Weapons

[ad_1]

Destiny 2 has long been grappling with an issue about crafting, in that world drops could never measure up without the ability to have enhanced perks. Well, that’s changing for The Final Shape, and now Bungie is detailing how.

The process to enhance weapons is relatively simple, and there is a wide, wide variety that enhancement will work on, including a lot of old weapons Bungie had not previously said would be enhanceable. With a few exceptions, it’s every new-era weapon with an origin trait.

So, how does this work? There are three tiers of enhancement:

Tier One Enhancement (shown to just cost 3 enhancement cores) – It replaces your masterwork and applies an intrinsic that matches its old stat. Gives it a memento socket and level. For Adept Raid weapons, you can change your barrels and magazines on Mars like you can crafted weapons.

Tier Two Enhancement (requires level 11, leveled through kills or presumably, core investment like crafting does now) – The left column will be auto-upgraded to the enhanced perk. This applies to both traits in a multiperk weapon like the recent shinies. You don’t need to go to Mars for this.

Tier Three Enhancement (requires level 17) – You guessed it, this is the right side perk(s) this time, and at this point, you’re done. No word on if these weapons get the small level 20 stat bump like crafted weapons do.

All weapons going forward are going to have the ability to do this, but Bungie has now put out a full list of sources of current farmable weapons that will also have this ability. Many more than previously thought. Those sources:

  • Vow of the Disciple raid Adepts
  • Guardian Games
  • King’s Fall raid Adepts
  • Gambit
  • Competitive Crucible (all of them)
  • Trials of Osiris
  • Crucible
  • Iron Banner
  • Vanguard Ops
  • Nightfalls
  • Prophecy Dungeon

There are some exceptions pre-season 17 that still drop with origin traits, but it won’t work for some reason. These ones are not listed.

So the process here, it turns out is…very easy. No harder than crafting in terms of cost and leveling, it seems. Of course crafting is still technically better since you can customize every aspect of your weapon, including masterworks and barrels/mags on everything, not just Adept Raid weapons. But this is certainly far better than it used to be. Though I do wonder if every weapon can now be Enhanced, what’s really the point other than a small addition grind or core burn. But whatever, I won’t complain I guess, as everyone has been asking for this. Just a bit weird.
