Cause of fire under probe after blaze damages part of three-storey house

London Fire Brigade were called at 9.31am on Saturday (May 4) to Elsworthy Road to reports of a fire in a detached house of three floors.

Ten fire engines and 70 firefighters were deployed to the scene, and one of the Brigade’s 32m ladders were used to fight the blaze.

Fire crews also used Brigade’s drone team to monitor the incident from a height.

Half of the second floor was however damaged in the incident. The cause of the fire is yet unknown and is being probed by Brigade’s Fire Investigation team.

Firefighters from West Hampstead, Paddington, Kentish Town and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
