Mansfield fire truck damaged in hit-and-run on I-495, officials say – The Boston Globe

A fire truck from Mansfield sustained significant damage after it was struck by a tractor-trailer in a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 495 in Norton early Sunday morning, officials said.
Around 4:30 a.m., Engine 33 of the Mansfield Fire Department was struck by a tractor-trailer while at the site of a crash near exit 27 on the southbound side of I-495, according to a statement from the Mansfield Fire Department. The tractor-trailer allegedly kept on going.
The fire truck received “significant” damage to the passenger’s side of the truck, according to the statement. No one was inside the truck at the time of the crash and no injuries were reported.
The tractor-trailer was described as pulling a white trailer and having significant damage to the front driver’s side of the cab, according to the statement.
The Fire Department encouraged anyone with information on the incident to contact State Police. No further information was immediately available.
