French Open: Naomi Osaka’s Rapper BF Cordae Shows Up in Paris to Possibly Cheer for Her

Naomi Osaka is almost turning a corner on the clay court. As she proceeds gracefully to face off against the number one WTA star Iga Swiatek, a much-needed possibility of getting support from her boyfriend is swirling around. Despite her lack of experience on clay, Osaka already surpassed the French Open‘s debut round taking down Lucia Bronzetti. And adding more fuel to her thrilling French Open 2024 journey, Cordae has now arrived in Paris, probably to be the motivation for Osaka to beat Swiatek.

Naomi Osaka’s rapper boyfriend Cordae took to his official Instagram Story and posted a photo of the city of love proving his presence in Paris. Osaka, although beat Bronzetti by 6-1, 4-6, seemed visibly stressed during her initial press conference for Roland Garros. Given her lack of experience on the surface and her 12-9 statistics with 4-3 on clay this season, it seems a bit hard for Osaka to stand tall against a champion like Swiatek. However, she doesn’t need to worry as her boyfriend Cordae is in Paris to possibly cheer for her as she enters to try her luck against Swiatek.

On the other hand, Osaka’s daughter has already joined her mother in Paris. As the 4 times Grand Slam champion spoke about it, fans could understand the support she felt attending Roland Garros with her daughter. “Shai (her daughter) is coming to Paris, so that’s something that’s keeping me very happy”- said Osaka. Not only did Shai join his mother but also amused her with an adorable surprise, that probably fuelled Osaka to play like a queen. Referring to Shai’s first walk, Osaka channeled her true motherhood in front of the press.

“Yesterday, she walked for the first time, so I was really happy about that, We’re going to practice some more when I get back. But it’s really cool to have her here, just to see how much she’s grown and how many things she’s doing differently. It’s kind of surreal. I mean, being away from her was really tough, but I called her every day, I saw how well she was doing and I saw how happy she was, so that made me happy,”- said the proud mommy.

Naomi Osaka’s boyfriend has been one of her biggest support systems. Before surprising the fans with his Paris tour for her partner, Cordae took the hustle of quarantine to be with Naomi Osaka. If this isn’t love, then what is?

Cordae’s visit to Paris for Osaka might scream for their adorable romance and supportive relationship, but this is not his first such attempt for her.  This Japanese US Open champion told to People Magazine that she contacted her boyfriend and revealed her sadness during the pandemic after her US Open win in 2020. “I FaceTimed him a couple days earlier and said I was feeling sad and lonely in the bubble,”- shared Naomi on her Instagram at that point. After this, her rapper boyfriend apparently boarded the plane and quarantined to stay with her. Osaka’s revelation shows how much Cordae loves her and tries to keep her happy.

However, Cordae’s presence in Paris ahead of Osaka’s second-round match against Swiatek has been a great booster for Osaka. This immense support from her boyfriend and daughter might make her play unbelievably well in the Roland Garros. Only time can tell!
