Detective Conan: The Million-dollar Pentagram Will Have English Subtitle Screenings in

The Detective Conan: The Million-dollar Pentagram anime film is getting English-subtitled screenings in Japan starting May 24.

These screenings will be held at Toho Cinemas Hibiya, Toho Cinemas Shinjuku, 109 Cinemas Premium Shinjuku, Toho Cinemas Roppongi Hills, Midland Square Cinema, Yokosuka Humax Cinemas, Toho Cinemas Umeda, Cinema Box Taiyo, Cinema Rycom, and United Cinema Parco City Urasoe.

The announcement comes after Detective Conan: The Million-dollar Pentagram, the 27th movie in the Detective Conan franchise, celebrated another week at the top of the Japanese weekend box office ranking. The film is now the 27th highest-grossing film of all time in Japan with 12.8 billion yen (~US$82.75 million). 2023’s Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine, the most successful Detective Conan movie so far, ranks at 18th with 13.88 billion yen (~US$89.73 million).

The Million-dollar Pentagram opened in 515 theaters on April 12. Its plot sees Conan Edogawa crossing paths with Kaito Kid once more and also ropes in Heiji Hattori. 

The long-running Detective Conan manga by Gouho Aoyama, titled as Case Closed by Viz Media, began in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday in 1994 and has 105 tankoubon volumes as of April 2024. The TV anime premiered in 1996, and the first anime film was released in 1997.
