Commonwealth Games 2022 Live: Continuing India’s good show in Commonwealth Games, shuttlers PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen bagged gold in Singles events, while Chirag Shetty – Satwik Sairaj Rankireddy took home gold in the men’s double’s match.

After an explosive tenth day which saw medals raining for India across sports like athletics, cricket, table tennis, hockey, squash and boxing, India will be looking forward to cap off the finals day with some more gold.

  • He has picked up a minor knee injury and has been advised rest.

Commonwealth Games 2022 Live: English spinner Sophie Ecclestone reprimanded for breaching ICC Code

  • England left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone has been handed an official reprimand for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the Commonwealth Games Women’s T20I bronze medal match against New Zealand in Birmingham on Sunday.
  • Apart from this, one demerit point has been added to Sophie’s disciplinary record, for whom it was the first offence in a 24-month period.
  • Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand, a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player’s match fee, and one or two demerit points.

Covid-19 drama no excuse for Harmanpreet Kaur and India

  • McGrath tested positive to Covid-19 on the morning of the gold medal match in Birmingham, but was allowed to take the field due to the fact that she was only suffering from minor symptoms.
  • Harmanpreet said the Indian team had been informed of McGrath’s positive test prior to the toss and had no objections to allowing her to take her place in Australia’s side.
  • The talented 26-year-old went wicketless and only managed two runs with the bat as Australia clinched a thrilling nine-run victory, but conjecture surrounded whether or not she should have been able to take the field at all and the toss was even delayed by more than 10 minutes as the issue was discussed.

  • Congratulating Kidambi Srikanth for winning a bronze medal in badminton, the prime minister called him “one of the stalwarts of Indian badminton”.
