The current version of Space Mountain will close permanently on July 31. Special decor, a photo op, merchandise, and more are available to commemorate the ride’s closure.

The new Space Mountain, rumored to be called “Space Mountain Earthrise,” will open in 2027. Construction began in late 2022, with a groundbreaking ceremony in May 2023. The reimagined attraction will cost approximately  ¥56 billion ($437 million) to build. Most recently, the first piece of coaster track arrived at the construction site.
